Mindfulness

Mindfulness, says Professor Mark Williams, former director of the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, is “about allowing ourselves to see the present moment clearly. When we do that, it can positively change the way we see ourselves and our lives”.

By becoming more aware of the present moment, we begin to experience and see anew things that we had previously been taking for granted, things that we hardly knew we overlooked. For this reason, mindfulness has appealed to a wide range of people on the continuum of mental health.

Mindfulness has shown to be an effective treatment for stress, anxiety and even depression. If you tend to find yourself in your head a lot, worrying about what has happened or dreading what might happen, then mindfulness may work for you.

We’re a proud charity partner of guided-meditation service Headspace and run a number of mindfulness services in order to bring this effective and calming technique into the lives of our clients.

Headspace is a guided meditation service available as an app and online, and is perfect for people new to mindfulness and meditation.

Guided Mindfulness Drop In Sessions

Join us for our group guided meditation sessions, which take place bi-weekly. We highly recommend attending our mindfulness workshop and continuing your new mindfulness practise with our drop ins and Headspace subscription.

Mindful Colouring

Mindful colouring has been described as ‘anti-stress art therapy for busy people’. Give it a go using one of our colouring books and colouring pens and pencils in our drop in lounge.

Aromatherapy and Massage

Aromatherapy is often used for chronic pain, anxiety, depression and insomnia. We run fortnightly affordable aromatherapy and massage sessions from both our Walton office and local community mental health centre with our aromatherapist Diane (advance booking is required).
