“Wellness with a Goal is an excellent charity. The Citizens Advice Bureau is second to none. They sort out all your problems and worries, whether it be with the council or about part-time work etc. You can go into their drop in feeling a bit of a failure, and leave feeling a success. Wellness with a Goal helps you make friends with like-minded people who have been through the same sorts of problems. “I have been a client of Wellness with a Goal since 2013. I was lucky enough to access one of their Wellbeing Workshops at a time in my life when I really needed something to keep me going. I met lots of new people and we learned a lot. This really helped me. Since then I have felt confident enough to host Creative Writing and Quiz at the drop in. I also benefit from the Art classes on Monday in the Riverside Barn.

The staff at Wellness with a Goal are very supportive and know most of us very well. There are opportunities to participate as much or as little as we feel able to.

There are social activities, learning groups and peer support groups. Funding for all charities is quite limited but Wellness with a Goal deserves a special mention because it works!” – Lesley Goode

“I’m a sufferer of mental health issues – anxiety and depression for more than 30 years which has included a number of hospital admissions. I was introduced to Wellness with a Goal a year ago by DWP following the loss of my job. Wellness with a Goal has enlightened me to use ‘Headspace’ and ‘Colouring Books’ – meditation techniques to aid handling anxiety.

The Anxiety Peer Support Group led by Clare has been most supportive and has got me to use ‘Headspace’ albeit a similar meditation course had been recommended for me by my Professional Clinical Psychologist but I could not understand the benefits or treat it as a method of helping me until I came to Wellness with a Goal.

Wellness with a Goal has been supportive of me in a non-judgemental way and looked after me well. The help provided by Paul with my IT issues has been most helpful since IT itself is one source of my general anxiety. “Although I only use one of your services currently, I hope to be able to take part in more at some future date. The only reason I don’t is because I am a carer and it does take up quite a lot of my time and I can’t really leave my husband too much either, as it is a little unfair, otherwise I would be doing one of Wellness with a Goal’s activities every day.

However, I would like to say that the Art Group which I do attend is amazing and has taught me so much. It has been very well run and mixing with the lovely clients who also attend has given me so much more confidence than I had to start with, as I was truly nervous about joining, because I find it difficult to mix, but I needn’t have worried. I hope that it is never cut back, as it is paramount for me that I keep going with it. I would recommend the art classes to any new clients.

There are many other services which I wish I had the time to attend, such as yoga, mindfulness etc. and if I was on my own (God forbid), I would truly benefit from joining all these things.

I find Wellness with a Goal and the people who run it such lovely people to deal with and only wish I had been able to be a part of it all much earlier. I only really became involved about seven months ago and hopefully it will run forever, as I truly benefit from being a part of your superb activities; I just wish I could come to something every day, as it truly focuses your mind on more pleasant things than the worry of caring, which is an every day lifetime thing.

I also find Wellness with a Goal to be amazing at keeping clients totally updated with everything that is going on and there are many people out there who would benefit from such a well-run organisation.

I have never tried any other company’s services, as I have only been introduced to Wellness with a Goal, but frankly I really wouldn’t need to go elsewhere, as they have everything I and many other clients would ever need. I have also popped into their Walton office for a coffee and had a thoroughly nice time meeting everyone there.

A small group is an advantage as it is less intimidating for people with social phobias.
